Central bank prohibits cash foreign currency sales to households

MOSCOW, Mar 9 (PRIME) -- The Russian central bank has forbidden sales of foreign currency cash to the households from Wednesday until September 9, 2022, the authority said in a statement.

"The inflow of dollars to the country is restricted by sanctions, and this is the only reason behind the special measures on the foreign currency cash sales by the banks," the ruler said.

The deposits and banking accounts in foreign currencies are saved and accounted for in the currency of placement, a client can withdraw up to U.S. $10,000 in cash and the rest in rubles exchanged in accordance with the rate at the date of withdrawal.

The sales of foreign currency cash for rubles are available anytime and in any volumes.
